Dr. Rob Landriault has a saying he’s used in his North Bay office for years: everybody deserves access to chiropractic care, but not every chiropractor is the right fit for every person. The patients who fit at Landriault Chiropractic Health Centre are the ones who want to understand what’s happening in their spine and nervous system — not the ones looking to “just crack me here.”
Since graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2002, Dr. Rob has built a family-based wellness practice in North Bay and Sturgeon Falls that has served more than 6,000 patients across more than two decades and tens of thousands of adjustments. On a typical day he sees around 80 patients, and he has no interest in retiring — “I just love what I do.”
How Dr. Rob Found Chiropractic
He didn’t set out to be a chiropractor. His father is a dentist, and Dr. Rob expected to follow a similar healthcare path. But after a sports injury his medical doctor met with painkillers and “stop playing,” his family sent him to a local chiropractor — Dr. Tom Preston in North Bay. The relief came quickly, but what stuck was something different: the patients in Tom’s office weren’t broken; they were healthy. Dr. Rob spent his summer placements in that office, watched how Tom built a practice that protected time for his family, and decided this was the way he wanted to spend his days. Years later, he’d close the loop by mentoring Tom’s daughter, Dr. Jayla Preston, into the same office.
Education & Training
Dr. Rob earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2002, where he received the Clinical Externship Award for clinical excellence. He is licensed to practice chiropractic in Ontario by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario. His clinical toolkit includes Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, and Toggle Recoil techniques, Torque Release Technique, and instrument-assisted adjusting with the Arthrostim. He has completed advanced training in upper cervical care and the Thompson Protocol with Dr. Peter Amlinger and remains a committed lifelong learner — his father’s instruction to “go out and learn the best information you can, bring it back to your community, and take care of your people” shaped how he approaches continuing education.
Professional Service & Continuing Education
Dr. Rob has served as a board director with the Alliance for Chiropractic, a provincial chiropractic organization in Ontario, since 2017. He was named Chiropractor of the Month by the On Purpose Chiropractic program in 2014. He continues to study with leading chiropractic researchers including Dr. Heidi Haavik (PhD, Neurophysiology) — whose work he draws on regularly — and works alongside Dr. Monique Andrews (chiropractor, MSc Neuroscience) and Dr. Patrick Freud (chiropractor, PhD Neurology) to keep the office’s clinical work tied to current peer-reviewed neuroscience research.
How Dr. Rob Practices
He practices what’s known as principled chiropractic — care anchored in the relationship between the spine and the nervous system, not in symptom management. Every new patient at the office begins with a thorough assessment that includes digital X-rays and Insight nervous system scans (heart rate variability, surface EMG, and thermal scan) before any adjustment takes place. The thoroughness of that initial exam is the part patients most often mention in reviews.
