A Proven Process, Built on Real Data
When you visit us, we’re going to test you, we’re going to check you, and we’re going to adjust you. Then we’ll monitor and re-examine so we can track your progress.
That’s how we’ve worked for 23 years, and it’s why our care is structured in three distinct phases instead of one open-ended block. Every phase has a job, and every phase has a defined milestone.
Every recommendation we make is based on three things: what we find on your exam, what we know from clinical experience, and what your goals actually are.
Building a Strong Nervous System From Day One
In your child’s first two years, their nervous system develops more than it ever will again in their lifetime. Every roll, every crawl, every step they take is the nervous system practicing: learning how to coordinate the body, how to adapt, how to grow.
What we’re focused on as pediatric chiropractors in North Bay is helping that foundation form well.
The spine and the nervous system work together. The spine protects the nervous system, but it also feeds it information. Every joint movement sends signals to the brain about what’s happening in the body. When areas of the spine aren’t moving the way they should, those signals get distorted. The nervous system has to work harder to make sense of the input it’s getting, and the body has to compensate.
In a growing child, that compensation can quietly shape how they develop.
Our goal is to find those areas of tension early, while their nervous system is still highly adaptable, so your child can grow on a strong, sturdy foundation rather than working around something their body has had to adapt to.
Phase 1: Initial Intensive Care
This phase’s job is straightforward: get you back up and going as quickly as we can.
Patients come in more often during this phase — typically days to a couple of weeks of more frequent visits — because the goal is to break down the abnormal pattern in your spine and nervous system and start restoring proper movement.
Every adjustment builds on the previous one. A connected sequence designed to get you out of the symptomatic state you came in with.
Once your symptoms have reduced or been resolved, we can move onto corrective care.
Phase Two: Corrective Care
Once you’re out of intensive care, the second phase is where we strengthen your spine and your nervous system to address patterns.
Here’s why that work matters.
Your body is designed to continually adapt to what’s going on around it, and your nervous system’s job is to monitor, adapt, and coordinate all of it. When your spine moves properly, it activates little muscles along the spine that send healthy movement signals to your brain.
When your spine is subluxated and isn’t moving properly, those signals get altered. Instead of sending healthy movement signals, your spine starts sending more of a threat-danger signal to your brain — and your brain responds by tightening the muscles around the dysfunction to splint and protect it.
The popping sound a lot of people associate with chiropractic isn’t what creates the change — there’s research on this. When an adjustment is performed on a segment that’s already working well, the popping sound still happens, but no neurological change does.
The change only happens when the adjustment lands on the part of the spine that’s actually dysfunctional. That’s why specificity matters more in this phase than in any other.
It’s also why no two corrective plans look the same. If your dysfunction has been there for ten years, your plan reflects that. If it’s been there for a few months, that’s a different conversation.
Is Corrective Care Right for You?
We want everybody to have access to chiropractic care, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’re the best chiropractor for everybody.
About Landriault Chiropractic
Landriault Chiropractic Health Centre is a principled, nervous-system-focused chiropractic clinic based in North Bay, Ontario, with a satellite location in Sturgeon Falls.
We see patients from across North Bay — West Ferris, Pinewood, Marshall Park, Trout Lake — and from the surrounding communities of Callander, Powassan, Corbeil, Astorville, and Sturgeon Falls.
Our team has been together for over a decade, and our approach is straightforward: we examine, we scan, we review the findings with you, and then we adjust based on what we found. We’ve built the practice around helping people understand their health, not just manage it.
From Our Patients
Start with the Assessment, Not the Commitment
Booking your new patient assessment isn’t committing to corrective care. It’s committing to finding out whether corrective care is what you actually need.
Your assessment includes a full consultation, a structural exam, x-rays when indicated, and three insight scans of your nervous system function. We sit down with you afterward, walk through what we found in plain language, and tell you what we think.
